Alice Matimba: "Research that is relevant to your community"

My name is Alice Matimba. I am currently working at the Wellcome Genome Campus as the overseas courses development officer for the Advanced Courses and Scientific Conferences programme.

If you had just one criterium to propose to assess scientific excellence in your country, what would it be ?

What is really important is for research scientists in Africa to do research which is relevant for their communities. So, a criteria that could be used to measure excellence would be social impact, or community impact.
