Mamadou Sidibé invested his family savings in Lenali, and convinced others to lend him money for the development.
"I took a crazy bet ! I decided to give up my Parisian comfort to go where I wouldn't even have electricity full time. Just get a house. I left everything here, including my wife Elena. She agreed to raise my child so that I could go to Africa and do this, hence Lenali's name: it's Elena plus Mali, it's a tribute.
That's the story. And other people in Mali who believed I was right, belived in a project, that something could be done.
Sometimes I am asked the question: "What would success be like for you?" The answer is not making an African Facebook, but rather to succeed in creating a digital generation that paves the way. It would be a success and I am counting on your support.
It's on Playstore. In one year, we had more than 40,000 downloads without any advertisement! We plan to officially launch next November, on our own funds: more than 150 000 €, family funds and people who lent us money because they just believed in the cause.
It is a tool that, in my humble opinion, is more appropriate and takes into account local realities. And everything that will come in Lenali will only result from a local need and will be solved by local research engineers in collaboration and in connection with everything we have learned with countries like France that have given us this opportunity."
