Scientist and entrepreneur - 17. Faten Hamdi: be able to see outside the company

Open one's mind to the socio-economic environment is essential for the successful development of the entrepreneur and her company.

"Sometime you really feel weakened by difficulties. When you're young, you cannot hire other people. You work alone. you have to do the administrative part, to be connected, to do science intelligence: you have to be everywhere.

But little by little, you can got help from people who volunteer to work without asking for feedback.

This year, I decided that I would stop being head on and think only about the project, be at my production unit all the time, be with suppliers and everything. I decided to open up to the socio-economic environment and to go to universities, to go to engineering schools to get feedback, and see how I can be in an environment different from the company.

And it helped me a lot. I joined the Union of Industrialists. As a result, I attend conferences that are not in my specialty, and it gives me an opening. It took my mind off things a little bit.

It allows me to open up to other things, to be fulfilled. Because first of all, you always think about the project. You forget about the family because you don't have time, working almost 20 hours a day.

But it's also nice to go out, to be here with you today, it allows to have a network, to breathe and to see experiences like my two colleagues. And you learn a lot from the experiences of others."
