FATEN HAMDI
Faten Hamdi is an agronomist, with specialized training in horticulture and plant protection, educated at the Institut Supérieur Agronomique in Chott-Meriem, Tunisia. She holds a PhD in Biology and Agricultural Sciences from Montpellier 2 University, France, and the University of Sousse, Tunisia.
Throughout her university studies, she has been interested in the biological and integrated protection of plants.
She discovered her entrepreneurial spirit by participating, during the second year of her PhD, in the Programme d’Accompagnement à la Création d’Entreprises Innovantes en Méditerranée launched by the the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD France). She was among the winners of the first edition.
After obtaining her PhD in France, she returned to Tunisia to create the company ControlMed, devoted to the production of insects useful for agriculture. Her project was innovative in Tunisia.
Faten Hamdi keeps in touch with the world of research by developing collaborations with Tunisian, Mediterranean and African scientific and higher education research institutions.
She seeks to develop the activity of her young company and to develop it internationally.
