AXEL NGONGA

Axel Ngonga is a full professor for Data Science at Paderborn University in Germany. In his current position, he investigates semantics data processing and explainable machine learning at large scale.

He has been born and raised in Cameroon. He studied Computer Science and Physics at Leipzig University, from which he graduated with a PhD in 2009. He has led two dozens of high-impact national and international research projects on Semantic Web technologies and machine learning with applications to data and content management, industry 4.0, and bio-medicine. He was nominated a Next Einstein Forum Fellow in 2016 and has received more than 20 prizes for his research.
