FRANÇOIS PIUZZI

Now retired, François Piuzzi was director of research in physico-chemistry at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission. He is an expert in the application of lasers in physico-chemistry.

He founded the instrumentation prize in physical chemistry awarded annually since 2007 by the Division of physical chemistry, common to the Société chimique de France and the Société française de Physique.

He chairs the "Physique sans Frontières" commission of the Société française de physique, of which he is a member of the board. He was president of the Physics for Development group of the European Society of Physics. He is also a member of the board of the Association pour la promotion scientifique de l'Afrique.
